Private Villa

The concept organizes shared living and dining at the centre of the house, with bedrooms positioned around the outer edges. This allows the plan to read as a collective domestic space with more private rooms connected to it.

The front arrival and rear outdoor cooking area create two distinct thresholds. The floor plan sets out those spatial relationships; the roof plan studies how the broad roof gathers the arrangement into one building.

I developed the architectural concept and full 2D design. A civil-engineer collaborator translated the arrangement into a SketchUp/3D model and contributed early recommendations on columns, beams and MEP.

The cutaway makes the plan easier to read spatially, showing the shared centre, bedroom edges and rear terrace together. This exchange between the 2D drawing and 3D model supported early design discussion.

At the rear, the terrace and outdoor kitchen extend daily activities beyond the enclosed rooms. The roof, posts and edge railing define a covered space that belongs to the house while opening onto the landscape.

This remains a preliminary concept rather than a completed construction package. It demonstrates my contribution to architectural organization and my ability to work with a collaborator across design and early technical questions.

The plan can be understood through three linked decisions: gather living and dining at the centre, give bedrooms a more private position around the edges, and extend daily life onto covered front and rear terraces.

The broad roof brings those parts into one domestic form. This is an explanation of the submitted concept, rather than a reconstruction of earlier design stages. The project remains at preliminary planning level, with the architectural 2D work and collaborator’s 3D and engineering input credited above.
